James Oliver - Highlander Construction & Development, Inc.
James Oliver is the President & Chairman of the Board of Directors of Highlander Construction & Development, Inc, a value driven and vision oriented company specializing in single and multi family residential construction, commercial construction, and land development. James was born and raised in Lynchburg Virginia where he attended and graduated from E.C. Glass High School with an Honors Degree. James attended Radford University, graduating in 1994 with a BS Degree in Political Science. In 1999, after several years of working for a local builder, James became a licensed Class A Contractor in the Commonwealth of Virginia and started Highlander Construction & Development LLC. In 2001 James also became a licensed real estate agent in the Commonwealth of Virginia. In 2007 Highlander Construction converted from a Limited Liability Company to an S Corporation. James has twice served as President of the New River Valley Home Builder’s Association and one term as Region I Vice President of the Home Builder’s Association of Virginia. In 2011, James was appointed by the Governor of Virginia, and approved by the General Assembly, to serve on the Virginia Board for Contractor, the State organization that oversees and regulates all licensed contractors in the Commonwealth of Virginia. James is happily married to wife, Donna. They have one child, David Samuel, and reside in Christiansburg.
