FAQ for CONTRACTORS

What is the home builders association?

Known as "the voice of the housing industry," the National Association of Home Builders represents more than 235,000 members involved in all aspects of home building and remodeling.
When you join locally, you automatically receive membership at the state and national level. That means you get three memberships for the price of one!

Who can join?

If you are involved in the home building industry, we invite you to join. NRVHBA serves residential and commercial builder members, developers and remodelers, as well as suppliers, subcontractors and related service providers.

Why should you join?

Because standing together, our members are a powerful force for keeping housing a national priority.

What are the benefits of membership?

The HBA is representing members’ interests with powerful legislative representation.

Members can enhance professional credibility and visibility by belonging to one of the most highly respected and widely known trade associations.

Critical news and up-to-date information is disseminated in a variety of ways so members to stay connected to industry information, including publications, e-newsletters, exclusive Web site content, bulletins, special reports, and e-mail alerts.

Other important benefits include networking opportunities, member discounts, educational programs, insurance programs, and access to many more benefits.

How can I market to NAHB members?

You can market your building-industry products and services to association members through the Membership Directory on our website and by advertising on our site.

FAQ for CONSUMERS

How can I find a builder or remodeler?

To find a builder or remodeler view our online directory.

Can you tell me about a builder’s reputation?

The HBA does not keep files on members' building practices and reputations. We encourage consumers to ask prospective builders for references and to check those references.

How do I go about getting started with the homebuilding process?
